ViPrimePLUS Megasphaera Type 2 qPCR Kit
Introduction
ViPrimePLUS Megasphaera Type 2 qPCR Kit has designed to have very high homology with all reference data within the NCBI database. The kit has the broadest detection profile and detects all clinically relevant strains. The kit will detect all Megasphaera type 1 sequences outlined in the following paper: Zozaya-Hinchliffe, M., Martin, D. H., Ferris, M. J. (2008). Prevalence and abundance of uncultivated Megasphaera-like bacteria in the human vaginal environment. Applied and Environmental Microbiology, 74(5). https://doi.org/10.1128/aem.02127-07. However, due to extreme homology the kit will also detect Megasphaera hutchinsoni.
Sensitivity & specificity
The detection limit is tested to have at least 100 copies per reaction. The primers and probe are 100% specific.
