It was such a pleasure to have all the participants who joined us for the Nucleic Acid Extraction, Amplification and Gel Electrophoresis Workshop at Monash University on 24-25 July 2019. A total of 15 participants, both from Monash University and other universities such as UiTM Puncak Alam Campus, Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia (UIAM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre (UKMMC) and Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) joined the one day and a half workshop.
During the workshop, participants were able to have hands-on experience with Vivantis kits such as GF-1 Blood Total RNA Extraction Kit and GF-1 Bacterial DNA Extraction Kit. Apart from that, Hercuvan equipment such as Gradient Touch Thermal Cycler GS-2x48, Microcentrifuge TT-14500 PRO, Mini-Centrifuge TT-6000, EB-HES-CGMIDIDUO and MiniGEL Electrophoresis System TT-HES-1 were also used in the workshop. Furthermore, we hope all the participants were able to gain valuable knowledge on nucleic acid extraction, amplification and gel electrophoresis as well as useful tips for their research.
Last but not least, we would like to express our gratitude to Monash University for offering us the facility and support to carry out the workshop. We look forward to foster more collaborations with universities and research institutes in near future!
