Description

This monoclonal antibody is a Japanese encephalitis virus-specific mouse monoclonal antibody and is intended for use in IgM capture ELISA for the diagnosis of Japanese encephalitis virus IgM in patient serum samples. This monoclonal antibody is used together with the dengue virus specific monoclonal antibody, DE1 for the diagnosis of Japanese encephalitis viral infections in regions where dengue virus co-circulates.

Specificity
This monoclonal antibody reacts with a conformational epitope on the envelope glycoprotein of Japanese encephalitis virus.

Isotype
IgG2a, kappa.

Applications
This monoclonal antibody may also be used in an indirect immunofluorescence assay for the detection of Japanese encephalitis virus antigens in infected cells. It has been tested in other ELISA formats including the Japanese encephalitis virus antigen capture ELISA, the Japanese encephalitis virus IgM capture ELISA for the monitoring of Japanese encephalitis virus infections in pigs and the Japanese encephalitis virus IgG capture ELISA. This monoclonal antibody is not applicable for western blot immunoassays.

Usage Recommendation
This monoclonal antibody may be diluted 5-10X for use, however optimal dilutions will have to be determine by individual laboratories.

Storage
This product is supplied as a cell culture supernatant and contains 10mM sodium azide. The monoclonal antibody is stable for a year at 4°C when properly stored.
